The Aboriginal Literacy Foundation initiated a training program for potential volunteers and teachers in the Indigenous education sector in October 2014. This training program will see candidates undergo a four week tutorial program and internship to gain the skills, expertise and cultural understanding to become ALF registered tutors. The program involves active work within our Literacy and Heritage camps, and a weekend placement working with an Aboriginal community.
This is a highly valuable program which combines the life and educational experiences of volunteers with ALF and Indigenous community knowledge. Through this program we aim to supply more tutors to the sector and build educational and wellbeing outcomes.
This program is limited in capacity. If you are interested in participating, please apply via the website. Any information please view our Volunteers page.
